35mm Film Scanning and CD Burning ServicesYour photos can be stored digitally and retrieved on any PC that's capable of reading photo JPEG or TIFF format. This service is primarily for Story Photography customers who wish to have digital copies of their photos. File Sizes and Format of ScansEach photo scanned is saved in two file sizes:
I scan original negatives with a film scanner to ensure "first generation" quality. Negatives are returned to client after scanning is completed. Scans are stored on a standard CD that can be read by Windows and Macintosh computers. JPEG file format is used, but TIFF and PhotoShop formats are available upon request. Minimum Equipment Requirements To View ScansMinimum equipment requirements for photo retrieval are: Windows or Macintosh PC with CD ROM drive, 16MB RAM, a software application capable of reading JPEG format (Internet browser may be used for this) and enough hard disk space to copy photos for manipulation and saving since CD is "read only."
