When preparing to have your portrait taken, remember these important points:
-- Avoid clothing with busy patterns.
-- Bring at least one change of clothes, three changes are better.
-- Make sure you have a comb or brush, hair spray, and make-up if you wear it.
-- Bring fashion accessories such as scarfs, belts, and jewelry to create different looks.
-- Allow enough time so you can be at your appointment early. You don't want to feel stressed or hurried before your shoot.
-- For outdoor portraits, bring a blanket that goes with your wardrobe for seated photos.
-- If you are being photographed with your pet, bring an additional person to handle the animal during photos of you that don't include your pet.
-- Schedule your portrait for the time of day that you usually feel your best.
-- Make sure you understand the business details of the photo session so that you are not surprised with extra charges or fees.
-- Talk to your photographer ahead of time on the phone so you can get to know him or her a little better.
-- If you're not comfortable being alone with the photographer during the session, bring a friend along.
