Derrick's Favorite iPhoto Tips for Macworld SF#1 -- Use "Show Info" (CMD I) to display picture's metadata.#2 -- Create "Custom Albums." (The + button in iPhoto) This forces iPhoto to create searchable data to help you retrieve your images, and it allows you to freely reposition your shots within the album. #3 -- Add information to the "Comments" field. Creates more searchable data. #4 -- Keep a backup of your photo masters. #5 -- "Set Title to File Name." Your iPhoto file descriptions will now match the masters you've backed up on your hard drive. #6 -- Use the SHIFT, CMD, and OPTION keys for more efficient work in iPhoto. #7 -- Keep your iPhoto Library size to 650 MBs or less. The iPhoto Library can be found in your Pictures folder. Keeping the Library size manageable improves iPhoto performance and allows you to archive them on regular CDs. #8 -- Use iPhoto Library Manager. You can download a copy for free from versiontracker.com. #9 -- Take advantage of iPhoto's "Mail" function to send images to friends. They will appreciate the smaller file sizes of your images. #10 -- Use iPhoto's "Drag and Drop" functionality to import and export images. iPhoto ResourcesTop Ten iPhoto Tips that you need to know.
